Renowned Austin singer Toni Price dies

Price had a huge fanbase in Austin and hosted a weekly Tuesday night show called "Hippie Hour" at Austin's Continental Club for 22 years.

AUSTIN, Texas — A renowned member of Austin's vibrant music scene has died.

Toni Price, a country-blues singer who recorded some of the city's best-selling albums, died from complications of a brain aneurysm on Friday at the age of 63.

Price had a huge fanbase in Austin and hosted a weekly Tuesday night show called "Hippie Hour" at Austin's Continental Club for 22 years.

According to the Austin Chronicle, Price took home 12 Austin Music Awards from 1993 to 2004. Her legacy was cemented with an induction into the Austin Music Hall of Fame in 2017.
