AUSTIN, Texas — Editor's note: The video above is regarding social distancing.
In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, or COVID-19, many Austinites are practicing social distancing. And with the closure of Austin bars on March 17, many Austinites' St. Patrick's Day plans came to a screeching halt.
But for a couple of Austin neighbors, social distancing and bar closures were not about to keep them from throwing a St. Patrick's Day-themed party.
Jon Abundez, a product support engineer for a medical device company, has been working at home with his girlfriend, Rhonda, for several days as many companies across Austin try to limit the spread of coronavirus and keep their employees healthy.

Abundez told KVUE he and his girlfriend were planning to have some people over on the night of St. Patrick's Day, but decided to scale it down ... way down.
The couple decided to have some drinks on the patio of their apartment and invited their neighbor, a computer engineer named Lucas, to join them. In the spirit of social distancing, the three – plus the couple's dog – had a party from the safety of their balconies.
Abundez posted a picture of the impromptu party on Austin's subreddit, where it's garnered hundreds of upvotes.
And yes, their neighbor is holding a White Claw. Because what party would be complete without White Claw? Abundez said the flavor was lime, "for St. Patrick's Day, of course."
