AUSTIN, Texas — An investigation is underway after a cyclist was killed in southeast Austin.
Austin-Travis County EMS said the cyclist was hit by a vehicle near Crumley Lane and Montopolis Drive around 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
Details on the crash are limited, but officials pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle had minor injuries, was not impaired and remained on the scene.
The incident is being investigated as Austin's 77th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 82 deaths. On the date of this crash in 2023, 77 fatal crashes resulted in 80 deaths.
