AUSTIN, Texas — Austin Wildlife Rescue needs your help.
While much of Austin remains closed and people practice social distancing, the rescue center has been lacking in the supplies it needs to care for needy animals.
A spokesperson for the center released the following statement:
"Austin Wildlife Rescue is a non-profit organization that houses, rehabilitates orphaned, injured and sick wildlife then releases them back into the wild. In 2019, AWR received 7,838 animals.
Normally, produce not suitable for human consumption, is donated to Austin Wildlife Rescue by Sprouts, Menchaca. However, because of the present shortage, there is no food for the animals.
If there is any organization, grocery store, produce wholesaler would could donate produce, it would be greatly appreciated."
