AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department SWAT team was called out to an East Austin home Thursday evening to surround a suspected fugitive who barricaded himself in the building.
Police responded to the 1200 block of Delano Street at approximately 6:03 p.m. Thursday.
APD said the suspect was wanted for a felony larceny warrant and was believed to be armed, which was what prompted the SWAT call. Nearby residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure, police said. The suspect was later arrested without incident.
Another male was also detained, according to police. APD did not disclose what the second man was arrested for.
Details about the suspect were not immediately available.
