Barton Springs Pool closed until further notice due to recent rains in Austin area

Austin's iconic Barton Springs Pool has closed Oct. 16 due to flooding.

AUSTIN — Austin Parks and Recreation announced Oct. 16 that the Barton Springs Pool is closed until further notice due to recent heavy rains.

The department will assess the pool's condition when flood waters recede and will provide updates then.

Staff is working to get Deep Eddy Pool ready to accommodate early morning swimmers. The Austin Parks and Recreation will let the public know if that is possible.
