Arrests made after Bastrop man with 'significant amount of bodily injury' dies

A second man was also arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence.

BASTROP, Texas — Two men have been arrested after a 42-year-old man was killed in Bastrop last month.

According to the Bastrop Police Department, officers responded to the 300 block of State Highway 71 around 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 25.

Once on the scene, officers found the man, identified as Robert Yarbrough, dead with “a significant amount of bodily injury.”

Police have arrested 53-year-old Keith A. Pennington for Yarbourgh’s murder, while 37-year-old Nicholas Ray was arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence.

The Elgin Police Department also assisted with the case, Bastrop police said.
