Fugitive task force arrests 'armed and dangerous' sex offender who failed to register

Hassan Mohamed Saleh was arrested following the receipt of two Crime Stoppers tips.

AUSTIN, Texas — UPDATE: On Feb. 16, 2024, Hassan Mohamed Saleh was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force following the receipt of two Crime Stoppers tips.

The Bastrop County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man who failed to register as a sex offender, authorities said.

Deputies need the public's help finding Hassan Mohamed Saleh Jr., 34.

BCSO said he is likely in the Austin area. Authorities say his last known address is in Dale.

Deputies said he is known to be armed and dangerous.

He is described as a 6-foot, 1-inch man, weighing 205 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911 or leave a tip with Investigator Brown at 512-549-5034.

In 2018, Saleh was wanted after evading arrest during a warrant arrest attempt at 123 Scarlet Oaks Drive, according to BCSO officials.
