AUSTIN -- If you're already planning a big Black Friday rush to the store to find the best deals, a new survey from WalletHub may help you choose exactly what to buy.
The WalletHub study looked at the best and worst items to buy on Black Friday and found that approximately 31 percent of Black Friday items offer no savings. Still, the survey did manage to isolate what items will have the biggest discounts if you wait to buy them on Black Friday.
The most discounted items are books/movies/music which gets an additional discount of 28 percent on Black Friday, according to the survey. Video games, not the systems, also receive an additional 22 percent off for waiting until Black Friday to purchase them. The final item in the top three are toys. The children's favorite usually gets an additional 22 percent off by waiting to purchase them on Black Friday.
Overall, WalletHub found that 68 percent of items will have a Black Friday discount of 10 percent or more. Still, 14 percent of items will have Black Friday prices similar to their current price, and an additional 17 percent will be more expensive on Black Friday than they are on Amazon.com today.
