Here's what you should know before heading to Blues on the Green

From parking options to road closures, here's how concertgoers can get the most out of their experience.

AUSTIN, Texas — After previously getting canceled, a free outdoor concert series is returning to Austin this summer.

The 33rd annual Blues on the Green tradition is making its official comeback June 11-12 at Zilker Park, featuring performers like Golden Dawn Arkestra, Quentin Arispe and Rider Against the Storm.

If you're interested in attending this year's event, here's everything you need to know, from parking restrictions to road closures and more.

Which roads will be closed?

Concert-goers can expect some Austin roads to shut down during this two-day event.

Starting at 5 p.m. on June 11, all park entrances south of Barton Springs Road will close to drivers and left turns won't be permitted from Lou Neff Road through Stratford Drive.

The parking lot is expected to reach capacity at approximately 6 p.m.. From there, Barton Springs Road through Stratford Drive northbound will close as well.

Barton Springs Road itself will be blocked at 9 p.m., from Azie Morton Road through MoPac/Texas Loop 1.

If you're planning to ride your bicycle to the event, Zilker Park offers a series of bike-friendly spaces and MetroBikes are also accessible in the surrounding areas.

Additional transit options

Don't want to drive or bike to the concert? The city offers a variety of alternatives when trying to get around.

Capital Metro allows for a quick journey to Zilker Park with MetroRapid 803. MetroBuses 3 and 30 are other viable options.

Those interested in rideshare options, such as Uber or Lyft, can instruct their drivers to pick them up at Veterans Drive.

Electric scooters, bicycles and other micromobility device riders can head to Azie Morton Road and Barton Springs Road for both drop-off and pickup.

The Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail will also remain open for those looking to take to the event by foot.

The Austin Center for Events recommends staying hydrated in the heat.

The venue also prohibits outside alcohol, glass, Styrofoam and any smoking and vaping.

Vendors are also prohibited unless they have a previously obtained permit. Otherwise, they risk receiving a fine of $200 or higher.
