The body that was found floating in the water at Windy Point Park near Lake Travis Tuesday morning was the man who was last seen on a sandbar near Bob Wentz Park over the weekend, the Travis County Sheriff's Office said.
Ricardo Sierra Martinez, 27, was last seen relaxing on a small island on Lake Travis near Bob Wentz Park on June 10. About 30 to 45 minutes later, his friends looked back at the island and didn't see him, TCSO said.
On June 12 at 10:13 a.m., Austin-Travis County Emergency Services responded to Windy Point Park near Lake Travis for reports that a man's body was found floating in the water. TCSO confirmed that the body that was found belonged to Martinez.
Authorities believe that Martinez drowned, but official results will come from the final report from the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.
