Boil water notice rescinded in Bastrop County

Residents in Hills Prairie, Rosanky and Smithville are no longer required to bring water to a rolling boil before use.

BASTROP, Texas — Residents in three parts of Bastrop County are no longer under a boil water notice as of Friday morning.

People in Hills Prairie, Rosanky and Smithville were put under the notice Thursday after a water line broke the day before.

The Aqua Water Supply Corporation (WSC) has since tested the water and provided proof of its improved condition to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

Individuals in these particular areas can now use their water without any restrictions.

Customers under the notice were required to heat water to a rolling boil, then boil it for another two minutes to safely use it for cooking, cleaning, drinking and more.

Aqua WSC has informed customers about the update.

Residents can call Aqua WSC at 512-303-3943 if they have any additional questions.
