AUSTIN -- The man accused of killing an Austin police officer is scheduled to be in court Wednesday.
A pre-trial hearing for Brandon Daniel is set. He's charged with capital murder after APDSenior Officer Jaime Padron was shot and killed in April of 2012.
Padron was responding to a report of a shoplifter at a North Austin Walmart. He got into a struggle with Daniel, the alleged shoplifter. Police say Daniel then shot Padron.
If convicted he faces the death penalty.
