Buc-ee’s will soon be known for more than its oversized gas stations and Beaver Nuggets. On Thursday at 10 a.m., the Buc-ee’s location in Katy, Texas, will be recognized by the Guinness World Records for the longest car wash in the world.
According to the Houston Business Journal, the car wash stretches 225 feet long. The 56,000-square-foot location at 27700 Katy Freeway opened in September after Hurricane Harvey delayed the initial opening in August.
Buc-ee’s first opened its doors in Lake Jackson in 1982, but it is now operating in 33 stations to date. The largest Buc-ee’s store in New Braunfels, Texas, is 65,000 square feet with 120 fuel pumps.
To celebrate the victory, Buc-ee’s will offer free car washes that day to customers who visit the record-breaking site.
