BURNET, Texas — Three people were injured after a small plane crashed into a car in Burnet on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 2:15 p.m. on U.S. 281 south of Delaware Springs Boulevard.
The plane had taken off from the Burnet airport before hitting a power line and crashing into the southbound lanes of U.S. 281, DPS said. The plane hit a passenger car during the crash.
The driver of the car was taken to a medical facility and released shortly after. The pilot and passenger were taken to a medical facility in Austin with burn injuries.
The plane was towed from the highway to the Burnet airport. The FAA was notified and will investigate the crash.
