AUSTIN — A multi-agency operation blocked an attempt to bring numerous kilograms of Chinese synthetic cannabinoid, also known as K2, to the city of Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.
The department said their Organized Crime Division was tipped off by U.S. Customs and Border Protection that two Chinese mail parcels, containing a kilogram of K2, were destined for Austin, but they were intercepted.
Officials said Kieth Nunley, 51, was identified as a suspect in the incident by multiple agencies after a controlled delivery sting.
Austin police said the operation seized numerous kilograms of finished K2, a substance that Austin police classifies as a hazardous combination of chemicals.
Police said Nunley has been charged is in the custody of the U.S. Marshals.
