AUSTIN — Lilly Clark picks out the exact ornaments for her Christmas tree.
It's pink, of course.
"Because it's my favorite color,” said Lilly Clark.
To make the holidays a little brighter, volunteers helped Dell Children's Medical Center patients decorate Christmas trees for their rooms.
"This has been very generous,” said Lilly Clark’s mom, Amber Clark. “To bring Christmas cheer and hope and fun to our hospital experience."
Lilly was diagnosed with leukemia in August.
"Cancer diagnosis in your child is always going to be a difficult path and a difficult journey,” said Amber Clark.

Charities "Just Imagine It" and "L4 Cares" made it possible for patients pick trees and ornaments.

"Sometimes we need a gentle reminder that if we get to do something like this and see the excitement and smiles on their faces as they get to decorate a tree,” said Yvonne Masters with L4 Cares. “That it's just that important to get out there and do something."
Clara Pauly's parents are grateful for the small distraction too.
Clara has craniosynostosis.
Medical equipment moves her skull to make room for her brain that's growing too fast for her skull.
"When you're having to hold her while she's getting IV's put in,” said Sam Pauly, her father. "It's tough."
Their family will hopefully be out in a few days.
Lilly may be here longer, but with a festive room at least.
"I love Christmas trees because we get to have Christmas and presents,” said Clark. "Makes the hospital stay just a little brighter for my daughter."
