(Austin American-Statesman) -- Repairs to the bluff over Shoal Creek in Central Austin that crumbled in a landslide in May are likely to start in a few months, a city official said at a meeting Thursday night.
Mike Kelly, the managing engineer for the city’s Watershed Protection Department, said construction should begin by October and will take about six months. Engineers are still testing and have not chosen a stabilization solution, Kelley said, though they’ve come up with a series of options.

The roughly 80-foot-long landslide May 4 did not cause any injuries, but it crumbled large swaths of at least three homeowners’ backyards and sent a paved section of the Shoal Creek trail crashing into the creek bed.
