City of Hutto boil water notice lifted following lab results

The City of Hutto was advising that residents only use boiled tap water after flooding from Saturday damaged the city's main water supply line. As of Sept. 25, residents no longer have to boil water.

HUTTO, Texas — Residents in the City of Hutto no longer have to boil water following lab test results as of Sept. 25.

"Throughout this advisory there was no confirmed contamination of the public water distribution system," Hutto said in a Facebook post. "The Boil Water Notice was issued as a precaution. Although not required, we are suggesting you run your faucet for approximately one minute."

City officials explained that Saturday's storm and flooding damaged Hutto's main water supply line. Public Works crews worked throughout the night to identify and repair the damaged lines, officials said.

By 9 a.m. Sunday, they said conditions existed that urged them to ask citizens to refrain from using water unless necessary and the boil water alert was issued.
