BLANCO COUNTY, Texas — Deputies have identified the man who died in a fatal crash in Round Mountain in Blanco County Wednesday.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jerry Lynn Fisher, 71, was driving a truck southbound on U.S. Highway 281 when he exited into a gas station parking lot and stopped a few feet away from the highway.
At that point, a second vehicle then reportedly attempted to make a U-turn from the gas station parking lot. As Fisher was crossing into the southbound outside lane, the second vehicle crashed into his car.
Deputies said Fisher died at the scene. His passenger was taken to a hospital and is in critical condition, deputies said.
The driver of the second vehicle was treated and released, according to officials.
