HOUSTON — Turning 16 years old is a pretty big deal. It's why Miya Garcia and her family are pulling out all of the stops to make sure Houston's future resident is in attendance.
Last month, Drake announced he found a place to live in Houston. For Garcia, it couldn't have come at a better time because that means it's a possibility he could attend her Sweet 16 in December. So she and her family shoved out money for a billboard invitation that went up in Jacinto City off I-10.
"I was just trying to think of something that would just get his attention," she said.
We don't know if the billboard has caught Drake's eye yet, but it sure has gotten a lot of attention from people across the U.S.
"Like I didn't think it was going to get as big as it got," Garcia said.
One thing Garcia said she loves about Drake is that he's really inspiring.
"He always like says never give up and to keep going and I really like that about him," she said.
For Garcia, having the GRAMMY Award-winning artist attend her Sweet 16 would be a dream come true.
"It'll be a day to remember forever," she said.
Earlier this month, Drake mentioned he's taking a break from music and touring to focus on his health, so perhaps he may have some free to make a surprise visit to Garcia's birthday party.
