Ehlinger breaks Longhorns' record in thrilling Sugar Bowl victory

The Sugar Bowl was extra sweet for the Longhorns' quarterback after Sam Ehlinger broke a record set by Vince Young in 2004.

AUSTIN, Texas — Sam Ehlinger had a sweet start to 2019 as he led the Texas Longhorns to a victory in the Sugar Bowl over Georgia, 28-21.

Ehlinger became the single-season rushing touchdown leader after his second rushing touchdown in the Sugar Bowl, but he had three for the night, bringing the record up to 16 for a season.

Not only did Ehlinger end up with a Sugar Bowl victory and new record for the Longhorns, but he also won MVP for the night.
