When a passenger on a Southwest Airlines flight headed to Austin from Las Vegas became "unruly" Friday morning, the flight was diverted to El Paso, according to the airline.
According to Melanie Jones with Southwest, the passenger "caused a disturbance" on flight 594, prompting the airline to divert the flight for the safety of Southwest's employees and customers onboard. Law enforcement then met them at the gate.
The flight arrived in El Paso at 2:45 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time and arrived in Austin at 4:13 a.m. Central Daylight Time.
"We appreciate the patience of our customers who were inconvenienced by this delay," Jones said.
