AUSTIN — The Texas man who was charged with threatening to rape and kill Taylor Swift worked for Eanes' school district as a bus driver, according to a letter from the district to parents.
Twenty-six-year-old Eric Swarbrick was charged with interstate stalking and sending interstate communications with the intent to threaten after he allegedly sent increasingly violent letters to Swift's record label, Big Machine Music Group.

According to a letter from Eanes Independent School District Sept. 25, Swarbrick worked as a bus driver in 2012 and most recently the second week of the current school year. Eanes ISD serves about 8,000 students at nine schools in Austin.
The letter said he drove a total of three days in August of 2018 on the Cedar Creek Elementary Lizard, Forest Trail Elementary Lizard, 506 West Ridge Middle School and 701 Westlake High School routes.
The district said he was fired immediately after they learned of the allegations. Officials also said he passed all hiring requirements in 2012 and again in 2018, "including a Department of Public Safety and Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal background check."
Although the district said they are unaware of any complaints made against Swarbrick as a bus driver, if a parent or student has information about him, they are asked to contact Laurie Lee, executive director of human resources at Eanes ISD, at LLee@eanesisd.net.
"The news of these allegations is upsetting to us all and we share your concerns. We are thankful for law enforcement, who alerted us to the situation, which brought immediate action on our part," the district said.
