Officials have released the name of the soldier who was found dead near the Belton Lake Recreation Area’s paintball field this week.
Fort Hood said the body of Spc. Alexander Michael Johnson, 21, was found July 12. Johnson, whose home of record is Mulberry, Fla., entered active-duty service in July 2013 as an AH-64 attack helicopter repairer.
Johnson was assigned to 615th Aviation Support Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood since March 2014.
Fort Hood did not release a cause of death for Johnson.
