AUSTIN, Texas — Crews with the Austin Fire Department (AFD) responded to a gas main break in northwest Austin on Wednesday morning.
According to AFD, crews located a 4-inch gas main that had been struck in the 7500 block of Fireoak Drive at around 10:55 a.m. Crews evacuated and shut off electricity to six homes in the area as a precaution.
Just before 4 p.m., AFD reported the gas flow was clamped and Texas Gas Service crews were still on the scene.
It is unclear if anyone has been directly affected as a result of the gas leak, but crews did warn about traffic delays in the area while they work to repair the line.
