AUSTIN, Texas — From video games to cell phones, it's hard to pry our kids away from electronics. But one summer camp aims to get them up, out and moving. It's called Kidventure.
Their weekly camps provide kids with the opportunity to discover and explore. The goal is to have fun, learn and embark on a new adventure. Your kids get a taste of athletics, games, arts and sciences at the camp.
Depending on the week, some camps offer archery games, rock climbing and team building exercises. Camp locations include Westlake, Lakeway, Sweetwater and Steiner Ranch.

"We believe that kids need to be exposed to a wide variety of activities," said Mike McDonnell, president of Kidventure. "We are taking a holistic approach to camp and kids can create relationships in camp because if you ask a kid what is most important in camp it's their friendships, right? It's creating and fostering new relationships."
Kidventure runs both day camps and overnight camps. Kids ages 3-13 can be dropped off in the morning and picked up at the end of the day. The overnight camp programs are for kids ages 8-18.
