BUDA, Texas -- An advocacy group is fighting back against a commercial well drilling company's plans to set up shop in Hays County with a new report.
On Tuesday, representatives of the Save Our Wells group presented the results of their own hydrological study. The group told county commissioners the drillers plans to pump about 2.5 million gallons of water a day could depressurize the aquifer in 30 years and have widespread implications throughout Hays County.
The group also said the impact could deplete hundreds, if not thousands of homeowner's wells.
On Monday, Electro Purification released data claiming its part of the Trinity Aquifer is isolated from other water nearby and won't hurt the surrounding area.
