A Flash Flood Warning in effect for Southern Hays County and San Marcos was allowed to expire at 1:45 p.m. Monday. It has been replaced with a Flood Advisory, in effect until 3:45 p.m. The National Weather Service can extend or cancel the advisory it as the situation requires.

Todd Salmi shared video of the water rising at Sewell Park on Twitter Monday:

Some students decided to have some fun in the floodwater. This is not advisable due the possible debris and bacteria in the water.

The City of San Marcos responded appropriately to reports of people playing in flood waters:

This is a developing story. Please check back to KVUE.com for updates.
