A Hays County judge who was arrested in May of last year for allegedly driving while intoxicated has waived his right to a jury, according to KVUE reporter Michael Perchick.

The special prosecutor in the bench trial is Corby Holcomb of Travis County. He told Perchick he has never met or heard of the Hays County judge, 46-year-old David Scott Glickler, prior to be assigned to the case. Former Harris County Judge Mark Atkinson will act as the presiding judge in the trial.

Glickler, who is being represented by Austin-based lawyer Russ Sablatura, has denied driving drunk the night he was arrested in 2015.

Atkinson is currently the CEO of the Austin-based nonprofit Texas Center for the Judiciary.
