The U.S. Marshals need your help in tracking down a Lockhart man they say sexually assaulted his 15-year-old relative in San Marcos.
Police said Jesus "Jesse" Delgado, 56, also known as Alfonso Hernandez, would be added to the U.S. Marshal's Service most wanted list.
Deputies said that on August 14 Delgado offered the teenager driving lessons and coerced her into a hotel room where he assaulted her.
"[Delgado was] someone she trusted in, someone that she's been with for numerous years, holidays, family gatherings," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla.
Two days after the assault, Delgado told San Marcos police he did nothing wrong and fled, leaving his car behind.
While Delgado most recently lived in Lockhart, Texas, he also has ties to Mexico, Chicago, Waco and Houston, officials said.
San Marcos police said Delgado is believed to be in the Houston area, but there's also a possibility he could be in Hays County.
Delgado is described as a Hispanic man, about 5-foot-7 and weighing around 170 pounds. Police said he has black hair and brown eyes. Previous booking photos show Delgado has a scar in his left eyebrow, multiple arm tattoos, and a criminal history dating back to 1981.
Delgado's charges go from burglary to just last year harboring a runaway from Fort Bend County to Dallas.
Filla said that somewhere along the way Delgado learned how to be a mechanic. He hopes a customer, or someone even closer to him, may help close the case.
"That's gonna play an advantage when you hunt someone tirelessly 24/7," Filla said of his team. "Because the family members are not going to help this individual out."
Anyone with information about the Delgado's whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Chris Tankersley with the San Marcos Police Department at 512-753-2130.
