Hearing set for man accused in fatal stabbing of University of Texas student in 2017

Kendrex White's lawyers claim he was insane when he allegedly fatally stabbed a University of Texas student in 2017. His hearing is set for November.

AUSTIN — A hearing is set for next month for the man accused of murdering a University of Texas student last year.

Kendrex White is accused of fatally stabbing Harrison Brown and hurting three others on campus last May.

White is pleading not guilty in connection to the murder and aggravated assault charges.

A trial date has not been set yet because a judge still needs to decide the mental state of White. His lawyers claim White was insane during the attack.

KVUE reported in 2017 that White was sent to neurologist before the attack. His parents told KVUE he may have hit his head during a car crash weeks before the attack.
