APD asks for public's help finding North Austin hit-and-run suspect

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is offering a reward of up to $1,000 in the search for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run incident last month.

According to a press release from APD, officers responded just before 1 a.m. July 17 to the 10700 block of Burnet Road, where they found a person suffering from injuries.

Police say the suspect was heading southbound in a ruby red 2015-2017 Ford Mustang when they crashed into the victim and continued driving.

Officers said the driver's side light was damaged in the crash, and the victim was reportedly taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

APD is now asking for the public's help in locating the suspect, whose description is unclear.
