Valentine's Day might be over, but not for those at the state homeless campsite

Multiple organizations brought food, pastries and other Valentine's Day goodies to people who live at the state-designated campsite in South Austin.

AUSTIN, Texas — On Saturday, dozens of people who live at the state homeless camp in South Austin sat around a table and enjoyed nachos.

The nachos, along with candy and pastries, were donated by multiple organizations, churches and catering companies.

"We are, were and haven been hungry, and due to the fact that we are homeless it is hard for us to get around," said Eve Delarosa.

Delarosa has lived at the homeless camp for three months and is happy the organizations could brighten a gloomy day.

"Thank y'all for helping us on a Saturday," said Delarosa. "Thank you for all of the sweets because we do need them."

The groups say they plan on going to the campsite every month to make sure the residents have what they need.
