Austin police investigating homicide off Oltorf Street

Police do not have a suspect in custody.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting off Oltorf Street in southeast Austin.

Police said at around 9:08 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to a shooting after multiple calls came from the 2100 block of Oltorf St. 

APD said officers arrived quickly and performed life-saving measures on a male victim, likely in his 20s. When medics arrived, the victim was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

On Friday, the deceased was identified as Marvin Flint, 26.

Police believe that Flint was walking along Oltorf when someone approached and shot him. Based on their investigation, police believe this person was known to the victim and that he was target. The suspect has not been located.

This is Austin's 48th homicide of 2022.
