HOUSTON — Two private planes appear to have come in contact with each other at Hobby Airport Wednesday morning, according to the Houston Airport System.
Airport officials said this happened at about 10:45 a.m. at Signature Aviation, which is a private hangar at Hobby.
A private plane taxiing bumped another plane, officials said. No injuries were reported.
Aerials from Air 11 showed the nose of one plane in contact with the wing of another.
This latest incident comes less than a month after a collision between two planes that caused the airport to shut down for several hours on Oct. 24.
In that incident, the National Transportation Safety Board said one private plane was landing and another was taking off around 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 when they hit each other where the runways intersect. Airport operations immediately came to a halt and resumed around 7 p.m. that night.
No injuries were reported but both private planes were damaged. According to the NTSB report, there were three people on one plane and four on the other. One plane sustained minor damage while the other was damaged substantially.
According to a report from The Associated Press, millions of people are expected to hit airports and highways in record numbers over the Thanksgiving break.
The busiest days to fly will be Tuesday and Wednesday as well as the Sunday after Thanksgiving, the report said.
The Transportation Security Administration expects to screen 2.6 million passengers on Tuesday and 2.7 million passengers on Wednesday. Sunday will draw the largest crowds with an estimated 2.9 million passengers, which would narrowly eclipse a record set on June 30.
