AUSTIN -- A person is reported dead near the intersection of Koenig Lane and Interstate 35 due to a critical incident, according to to Austin-Travis County EMS.
The alert went out shortly before 12 p.m. Thursday and emergency officials are asking drivers to avoid the area.
Eastbound US 290 was closed for several hours under I-35 but has since reopened.
