AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a driver involved in a hit-and-run in East Austin in March.
APD said the incident happened in the 5000 block of N. Interstate 35 northbound, near 51st Street, around 5 a.m. on March 23.
The suspect struck a pedestrian and fled the scene without stopping to render aid. The pedestrian was pronounced dead on the scene.
The suspect vehicle is described as a dark-colored SUV.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact APD at 512-974-8111 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 512-472-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information that leads to an arrest.
