Travis County jurors deliberated Friday in the capital murder trial of Albert Segura.
Segura, 37, faces the death penalty in the shooting deaths of Billy Gene Ferguson and Ferguson's mother, Patricia Ann Smith, in November 2007.
Ferguson was shot to death in a house in Travis County. His mother's body was found in a field in San Marcos.
Prosecutors claim drugs were involved.
Witnesses testified that Segura was angry because he thought someone snitched on him to police. They say he went to the house to confront Ferguson.
Prosecutors say Ferguson's mother witnessed her son's killing, was kidnapped, taken to a field and shot.
If convicted, Segura could be sentenced to death or serve a life sentence without parole.
