AUSTIN, Texas — First responders recovered a body from Lady Bird Lake on Monday afternoon.
According to Austin-Travis County EMS, medics got a call around 1:31 p.m. for a body in the water.
Officials arrived at the area along West Cesar Chavez Street, near Buford Tower, and found an adult dead at the scene.
In an update, the Austin Police Department (APD) said investigators are not sure how long the body has been in the water and that they're unsure if the body had any wounds. APD also said officers were still recovering the body and have yet to identify the victim.
APD's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the incident.
