Lake Travis water levels continue to drop as dam floodgates remain open in Austin

The Lower Colorado River Authority stated Lake Travis water levels continue to drop. This information comes with a dry stretch of weather ahead for Central Texas.

AUSTIN — A tweet sent out by the Lower Colorado River Authority on Thursday morning stated, "Lake Travis is now falling about 2 feet a day."

These new numbers come ahead of a multi-day stretch of drier weather that is expected for Central Texas, according to the KVUE Weather Team

This morning's tweet from the LCRA also stated four floodgates were still open as of Thursday morning.

The LCRA said, without any additional rain, floodgates will remain open through at least early November.

According to the hydrograph for Lake Travis on the National Weather Service's website, Lake Travis sat at 699.8 feet at 10:30 a.m. and it continues to fall.
