AUSTIN — Police have identified the man who died after a hit-and-run crash in northwest Austin Monday morning.
Austin-Travis County EMS responded to a check welfare call from a bicyclist who said he found an unresponsive man in the 5700 block of West Parmer Lane at around 6:30 a.m. Monday.
Thirty-seven-year-old Scott Gerald Whiting died on the scene, ATCEMS said.
According to the Austin Police Department, the man was stuck by a vehicle when he was either walking on the far right edge of the road or in the grass. The vehicle that hit the man left the scene, police said.
There is no vehicle description at this time, APD said.
