Man killed while checking on flat tire identified as 20-year-old from Belton

According to deputies, the accident happened on the 6800 block of SH 195 near Ronald Reagan Boulevard.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas — One person was killed after reportedly being hit by two vehicles on SH 195 in Williamson County Tuesday morning.

He was later identified as John Thomas Stubbs, 20, of Belton, Texas. He was pronounced dead on scene.

Officials said the incident happened in the 6800 block of SH 195 near Ronald Reagan Boulevard. A 2003 Ford F150 and a 2015 Nissan Altima were both traveling northbound. Stubbs reportedly got out of his vehicle to check on a flat tire when he was struck by both vehicles.

Northbound lanes on SH 195 were shut down temporarily after the incident. Troopers said they are still investigating.
