Man rescued after trying to enter Cleveland school through chimney

Firefighters had to remove bricks from the chimney and wall in order to extricate the man from the lower section of the chimney.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland firefighters rescued a man on Saturday after he became stuck while trying to enter a school in the Kamm's Corners neighborhood, authorities said. 

According to a social media post from the Cleveland Division of Fire, firefighters responded for a confined space rescue at St. Patrick's School at the intersection of Puritas Avenue and Rocky River Drive. 

Firefighters had to remove bricks from the chimney and wall in order to extricate the man from the lower section of the chimney. 

The man was taken to a hospital by Cleveland EMS. 

The fire department did not give any further details as to what led to the incident. 3News has reached out to Cleveland police for more information and will update this article with any response.
