AUSTIN — Austin-Travis County EMS (ATCEMS) tweeted Saturday evening that a man had been transported to a local hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries after a scooter incident.
The incident occurred near 1400 West Cesar Chavez Street.
The man was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center where he is recovering from what is considered serious injuries Sunday morning.
There is no further information at this time.
Between September and November, at least 68 people were hurt in scooter accidents in Austin.

The Centers for Disease Control is now teaming up with the city of Austin to research the electric scooter accidents to determine the health risks connected to e-scooters.
The researchers hope their findings will help protect riders across the country.
