AUSTIN, Texas — Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is on Monday, Jan. 21 and the holiday will have groups in Austin coming together to celebrate the legacy Dr. King left behind.
Here is our growing list of events going on in the Austin area for next week.
The Austin MLK Celebration March and Festival will be occurring on Monday.
First, the march will occur at 9 a.m. with a program at the MLK statue on UT's campus and it will continue to Huston-Tillotson University.
After the march, a festival will happen until 3 p.m. at Huston-Tillotson University where exciting activities and performances will occur.
Participants are encouraged to bring donations for the Central Texas Food Bank.
Austin isn't the only place you can attend great events celebrating Dr. King's legacy.

Georgetown will be having events multiple days next week.
On Jan. 21, Georgetown will have a day of service sponsored by the United Way of Williamson County. The event is at 9 a.m. on Monday for youth and adults. To register, click here.
There will also be a march held in Georgetown to honor MLK, Jr., which will begin at noon on Monday at the Williamson County Courthouse and end at Macedonia Baptist Church where a program will occur at 12:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
