AUSTIN, Texas — Police are investigating an apparent murder in southeast Austin.
According to the Austin Police Department (APD), officers responded to a call on Metcalfe Road, off Interstate 35, on Friday, June 21. When they arrived, they found a woman dead inside an abandoned house.
At the time, APD said it was investigating the incident as a "suspicious death," but the department now says detectives believe the woman – identified as 35-year-old Alyssa Rivera – was killed at the house by an unknown person.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists processed the scene and interviewed witnesses, but no arrests have been made.
