A Capital Metro MetroRail train hit and killed a man Friday night.
It happened near Airport Boulevard and 51st Street around 11:45 p.m.
Austin police said the MetroRail didn't have time to stop before hitting the man.
At this time, it isn't known why he was near the tracks. But police have a warning for all pedestrians:
"Stay off the tracks at all costs. You know, it takes a little bit longer to make it to their destination, but it's best to stay off those tracks, especially at nighttime. You can't see them at night."
No one on the train was hurt.
Train passengers had to use buses while authorities cleaned up the crash.
