AUSTIN, Texas — A man has been found dead after he was previously reported missing earlier this month in Austin.
According to the Austin Police Department (APD), the body of Cristian Rangel was found on April 19 at the 5800 block of Spring Meadow Road.
Officers responded to the location after receiving reports of a deceased man, and crime scene specialists and detectives arrived soon thereafter. Rangel was identified in what is now a death investigation. APD is offering up to $1,000 for anyone who can provide details that could help find and arrest a suspect.
Before his body was located, Rangel had last been seen in the passenger seat of an SUV on April 8 in a Walmart parking lot on the 5000 block of US Highway 290 Service Road Eastbound. The Walmart is about eight miles from where his body was found.
