The day after three adults and one child were killed in a shooting at an apartment complex, neighbors said they're still confused how it happened.

According to the Bastrop County Sheriff's Office, a shooter shot and killed two adults and a child at the Arbor's of Bastrop apartment complex.

The shooter then turned the gun on him or herself.

Bastrop police didn't identify the shooter Sunday, but they did release the names of the three adults killed.

They are Alejandro Martinez, 20, Erica Rodriguez, 21 and Paula Nino, 20.

"I saw three people walking to the cars," Neighbor Martha Hernandez said. "I heard talking...I think it's about attacking and they were angry and fighting and something like that."

Hernandez told KVUE's Jason Puckett that she was home with her daughter when shots rang out.

"My daughter said 'Oh My God'," She said. "I saw the window break...then boom it went through the wall -the second one."

Hernandez had two separate bullets enter her apartment. One crossing the entire living room before embedding in the front door.

While Police won't identify the shooter yet, or supplying a motive, friends of those killed shared their grief.

A Coworker of Paula Nino, said she worked at Wee Care Learning Center in Bastrop. She shared this statement:

Paula Nino has been a member of The Wee Care CDC family . She had just agreed to entering the Wee Care Teaching Academy beginning in August of this year, in pursuit of her Child Development Credential. Paula was well liked by her coworkers and her students.

As a floater, Paula served in every area from infants through school age children. Her most recent, and I believe favorite was as a teacher with the school age children. Recently, we were assessed by the Texas Rising Star program, and Paula was pleased with her assessment, stating that is went fantastic. With all of her work related accomplishments, her greatest joy was being a mother, she took great strides at improving herself in order to better her life and that of her beautiful daughter. Family and friends were very important to her.

Paula cared deeply for those around her and had created emotional and lasting bonds with the children and teachers that she worked with daily. It is with the saddest of hearts that I must confirm the information about one of our teachers.

Paula was a sweet young woman whose life was stolen in a horrific act of violence. Please pray for her family as they grieve the shock of her loss. " - Tena Williams Owner/Director Wee Care Child Development Center Bastrop, Texas
